ROXANE DUCHESNE-ROY
Roxane Duchesne-Roy holds a college diploma in classical dance performance from Cégep du Vieux-Montréal in conjunction with the École Supérieure de Ballet Contemporain. She dances for the École’s company, the Jeune Ballet du Québec, and is also cast in the Nutcracker by the Grand Ballets Canadiens de Montréal. In the fall of 2003, Roxane made her professional debut with Cas Public under the direction of Hélène Blackburn. Since then, she has performed internationally with Cas Public and has also worked with other choreographers, notably Estelle Clareton in the production of Furies/Gamma. In the last two years, Roxane has taken an interest in choreographic creation and teaching dance. As the driving force behind the dance component at the Institut du Nouveau Monde, she is determined to take contemporary dance out of its traditional framework and make it more democratic, by working jointly with other Quebec stage artists to find a new multidisciplinary dialogue.

MATTHIEU FORTIN
PIANIST
Matthieu Fortin holds a Doctorate Degree in piano performance from the Université de Montréal and an undergraduate studies diploma from the Consevatoire de musique de Saguenay. This young pianist has performed in London, Paris, Lyon, Brussels, Amsterdam, Silly (Belgium), Banff, Montréal, Orford, Trois-Rivières and Saguenay. Equally interested in contemporary dance and contemporary music, he participated to the Projet Roy, presented by Danse-Cité, in September, 2006. He also recently created partnership with Montreal dance company Cas Public, Prima Ensemble and the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal.

KYRA JEAN GREEN
Kyra Jean Green was born in France and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. She trained through middle and high school at Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Southern Dance Theater, and Magda Aunon’s School of Classical Ballet. She received her B.F.A. in dance from Juilliard in May 2006. Upon leaving Juilliard she danced and choreographed for City Dance Ensemble of Washington D.C.. Kyra was one of three winners selected from a pool of 114 applicants to participate in a one-week residency to create an original work for Hubbard Street II. The new work is being premiered during Hubbard Street II’s 2006-07 season.

ADAM JOHNSON
PIANIST
Adam Johnson was raised in Hinton, Alberta, and he completed his Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance at the University of Alberta, and he complete a Masters degree and a doctorat at the Université de Montréal in piano performance. He has also studied at the Juilliard School, at the Banff Centre for the Arts and at the Orford Arts Centre. In 2005 he was the feature pianist of the Ekhardt-Gramatté Competition national tour, collaborating with soprano Layla Claire in over 20 concerts across Canada. In addition to his career as pianist, Adam Johnson also completed a Masters degree in orchestral conducting at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal, under Maestro Raffi Armenian. He is a grant recipient from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and has been awarded an Alberta Arts Graduate scholarship, as well as scholarships from the Les Fonds de les Amis de l’Art and Les Bourses d’Excellence at the Université de Montréal.

MERRYN KRITZINGER
Originally from Toronto, she trained at Etobicoke School of the Arts, Pia Bouman's, Canadian Children's Dance Theatre, and The National Ballet of Canada. Before moving to Montreal Merryn was a company member of Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company in New York. She has also worked with Takehiro Ueyama (TAKE Dance), Troy Powell (AileyII), Alexandre Proia (Paris Opera), and others while on Fellowship at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Merryn has performed in Malaysia, Singapore, Mexico, Poland, and across Canada and the US. Merryn met Hélène Blackburn at SpringboardDanseMontréal in 2006.

PIERRE LECOURS
After studying fine arts, Pierre Lecours turned his attention to dance and graduated from the LADMMI in 1999. He has performed with several dance companies, including La Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault (L’Exil-L’Oubli and Joe), Cas Public (Incarnation, If You Go Down to the Woods Today and Courage mon amour), Whatwhatiwhat (Between/within), Le carré des Lombes (Play it again) and O Vertigo (Étude #3 pour cordes et poulies). In August 2007, he returned to work with Cas Public. As a choreographer, Pierre has created 13 works since 1999, with performances in Montreal, Quebec City and Baie St-Paul.

SUSAN PAULSON
Susan Paulson grew up in New Jersey and received her training at the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble as well as at the Peridance Center in NYC. She attended SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance and received her BFA from the Rotterdam Dance Academy in The Netherlands. Susan has performed with projects throughout Switzerland, Lebanon, and The Netherlands. She performed as a guest dancer with the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble performing works by Robert Battle, Robert Garland, David Brown, and Kyle Bukhari. In November 2005 Susan got the opportunity to work with Hélène Blackburn and Cas Public in a new project entitled Journal intime.

LAURIER RAJOTTE
PIANIST AND COMPOSER
Laurier began his musical training at the age of four. He went on to work with such great teachers as Marc Durand (Université de Montréal) and Julian Martin (Juilliard School). The winner of several competitions, including the FCAR and the Canada Music Competition, the young musician has also taken part in various international stages, and he obtained his master’s diploma from Université de Montréal at age 21. Passionate about dance, Laurier has collaborated with renowned Montreal choreographer Hélène Blackburn as well as French choreographer Christophe Garcia. As a composer, he has also fostered an interest in musical theatre, collaborating with playwright Érika Tremblay.

Mickaël Spinnhirny
French-born Mickaël Spinnhirny began dancing at age 16 at the FaSiLa Danser school run by Cécile Grignard. In 2005 he won 4th prize at the Concours International de Nyon (Nyon international competition) in Switzerland, where he also drew notice from Didier Chirpaz, the artistic director of Montreal’s École Supérieure de Ballet Contemporain. In September 2006, Mickaël received a grant to study with the Jeune Ballet du Québec. During his training, he worked with such masters of ballet as Françoise Vaussenat, Christophe Maraval and Samuel Abramian as well as with numerous choreographers, including Mario Radacovcsky (Slovakia), Michel Hallet Eghayan (France) and Kristen Cere (Holland). Mickaël has since been cast in a number of Jeune Ballet du Québec creations presented in France, Colombia, Canada, Mexico and Germany.
Mickaël has also fostered an interest in contemporary dance (which requires solid technique), and in 2009 received an Andrea Boardman bursary before once again joining Cas Public under the direction of Hélène Blackburn.

GEORGES-NICOLAS TREMBLAY
Self-taught choreographer and dancer (classical, jazz and modern) Georges-Nicolas Tremblay studied theatre at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. He has taught extensively in the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region and worked as a development agent in dance and as a performer, choreographer or assistant stage director in various productions. He is the co-founder of the company Schème Danse, and has acted as its artistic director for six years. He took part in the 2005 and 2007 editions of Osez ! under Karine Ledoyen, and in Hope, a production by Nadine Thouin. He has worked with Hélène Blackburn and Cas Public since December 2005
